ReSolve
Solution Process Overview
If there is one
commonality among people, it most surely is problems. No one is immune
to them or free from them. Not on the job, at home, or at play. Where
there are people there are problems. And, where there are problems there
is opportunity and available energy for transformation.
Ancient philosopher Aristotle said, "Our problems are not really problems,
our problem is the way we look at our problems". We look at our circumstances
through our own particular set of perception filters. Each filter being
an ingrained belief about ourselves and the world around us. Sort of like
looking through a set of window blinds opened enough to get a good idea
of what the outside looks like but, not opened all the way, making it
possible, even probable, that there is more information available than
we allow ourselves to see.
While scholars, scientists, engineers, and others have been active in
the pursuit and creation of problem solving processes for many centuries,
most people don't have any idea that step-by-step problem solving processes
exist. We are taught that 'general' knowledge, and lots of it, will give
us the foundation for solving our problems when it is actually 'specific'
information that tilts the scale. General knowledge, of course, is a prerequisite
for general daily living, but without being able to 'see' new information
and a specific way to apply it to a specific problem there can be no 'new'
solutions. Then we have to settle for the same old choices when new ones
are literally within grasp and right in front of our faces.
All change begins with awareness. The ReSolve Solution Process© guides
you through a series of 'steps' that help you create a mind-map. Using
a simple, yet powerful workbook you'll define your problem and define
your desired outcome. Then you'll list the forces driving you toward your
outcome and the opposite force of restrainers holding you back from success.
Seeing the factors listed in an organized mind-map opens up your vision
and helps you see the big picture. It opens the window bind filters of
the mind and allows you to see 'new' pieces of information.
Next, you'll turn the mind-map into a road map. A specific 'how-to' plan
to reinforce your drivers and minimize your restrainers. Then, you'll
learn how to add at least one new driver to create the necessary momentum
to reach your desired outcome. This is accomplished by pinpointing the
personal skills needed and knowing how to access them.
Change is easy, opening up our vision isn't. That's why the ReSolve Solution
Process© is simple and basic to help you focus and stay on track
as you work through the steps in a straight forward, easy to understand
format.
