Who
Cares?
Playing "Who
Cares?" is a great way to help define a market and come up with a
demographic profile of an end user.
It is as simple as asking "Who Cares?" about your product or
service and allowing yourself to come up with as many answers as you can.
First, with a broad group, say mostly men. Then defining it down to the
specific demographic, such as, 25 - 54 year olds, white collar workers
who live in the suburbs and have two children and six credit cards. Keep
defining until you come up with a solid profile.
This is a great way to test the appeal of your product or service. Hopefully,
enough people would care to make it a worthwhile venture marketing your
wares. A follow up test is to take your list of people and groups who
would care, and then find some representative samples of those groups
and actually ask if they do care.
Keep defining and testing.
